William Hooper was born in Boston Massachusetts, on June 28, 1742 and died in North Carolina on October 14, 1790. He was a representative to the Continental Congress from North Carolina and was one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. William Hooper enrolled at Harvard College at the age of fifteen, graduating in 1760. He studied law and moved to Wilmington, North Carolina in 1767.
