THOMAS DALE

Sir Thomas Dale was a British naval commander and colonial deputy-governor of Virginia from about 1601 to 1611. He created a new settlement up the St. james River called Henricus. He set forth a strict penal code for the colony and improved on the santiary conditions of the Virginia Colony.
