Ware, Eugene Fitch also known as Ironquill, was a lawyer and poet, was born Hartford, Conn on May 29, 1841 He family moved to Iowa when he was still young. In 1861 he enlisted in the army and was in the Indian Wars of 1864 which which he later wrote about is most his most famous work. In 1867 he took a parcel of land in Cherokee county, Kan., He studied and practice law and served 2 terms in the Kansas State Legisture from 1879 through 1883 and was US pension commissioner from 1902 through 1905. He was prominent in the Republican partyand was a delegate to two national conventions Some of his authored works include: "The Rise and Fall of the Saloon,"" , "The Lyon Campaign and History of the First Iowa Infantry,"" , "The Indian Campaign of 1864,; "Rhymes of Ironquill", "Ithuriel,""and "From Court to Court" ,
